OOTD/OOTN: How to Wear Leather in Spring

Hi everyone!

If you guys have noticed any trend at all so far on my outfit posts, its that I love leather. Any time of the year, leather can look so chic depending on how you wear it. Today I paired leather, and well…leather for you guys. I filmed a full Get Ready With Me video so that you guys can see how I do my hair, makeup, and style my outfit- and here is the final result! I chose out a couple pieces from a few favorite stores of mine- Tory Burch, Kate Spade, Fevrie, Nasty Gal, and Muwae Jewelry to come up with this look. I also have a coupon code for you, so be sure to scroll to the bottom!

Be sure to watch my video on this look HERE

IMG_7087Although the top is leather too, because it has fringe is the reason for why its wearable with this skirt

I just love this layered necklace from Mawae! I went ahead and doubled it up to look shorter against this fringe top.

IMG_7103This skirt from Fevrie is EVERYTHING! It created curves for me that I don’t have. Not to mention, the asymmetrical black lines adds curves too!

IMG_7088I tucked in the fringe top to make it look shorter than it really is. Kate Spade gold bangle bracelets and the Muwae necklace really pull the look together!

IMG_7098The gold chain of the bag brings all the other gold pieces together!

IMG_7089Pumps would have made this look too casual, so I chose pointy toed gold shoes to stick with the more formal theme

OOTD: Oh So Chic

Hey everyone,

I love interesting, un-done silhouettes of late, so I put together a look that symbolizes both those things. Being short, I never thought harem pants would work for me, but its wondrous what a basic pair of heels can do for your frame! This look is inspired by the girl who has an oh-so-cool job in the fashion industry, and doesnt have to try too hard. Its sophisticated, yet has a sass level to it. Enjoy!

IMG_6683This look is sophisticated meets boho in an understated way

FullSizeRender-4These pants are absolutely effortless! So comfortable, while looking so stylish

FullSizeRender-2You can’t go wrong with gold accents. It always looks so put together and chic. The jewelry I chose kept with this theme, and that is why they are sleek, thin pieces as opposed to chunky.

IMG_6668Nothing to break up neutrals like a good tomato red!

FullSizeRender copyI specifically chose pointy toed shoes because they keep within the lines of more formal, as opposed to trendy

OOTD: Color Me Happy

Hey everyone!

Long time no talk, but I’m back to fix that problem. Spring is in full force here in Atlanta- actually, I should say summer is here already. So in the spirit of that, today’s post is the first in my spring fashion outfit post!

I’ve been dying to get my hands on the perfect yellow clutch. I have seriously been searching for years! So when I finally found this gem on Rue La La, I knew it had to be mine. Being that my makeup artist mind has color theory embedded in it, I immediately knew that yellow and blue is the look I wanted to pair together for you guys. How did I do?

FullSizeRenderDenim is still going strong, and my perfect way to pair a simple denim shirt is with white jeans

IMG_6714I picked up this warrior style chunky bracelet in Thailand, and I love wearing it especially with muted tones like this denim shirt

IMG_6716I left the bottom button of the shirt undone to give the look an effortless feel

IMG_6710No combo goes better together than yellow and blue! This clutch is the perfect shade of canary yellow

IMG_6713I decided to amp up the sass with the buckled shoes. To dress it down a bit, you can always go for a basic nude pump

IMG_6700I like to stick with basic rules for my body shape. Loose top = tight pants

Review: Tru Self Organics Detoxifying Clay Mask

Hey everyone!

I’ve been masking the heck out of my skin for the last few months, and have been loving the results! I got my hands on the Tru Self Organics detoxifying clay mask recently, and had to share my thoughts with you.

Tru Self Organics makes all natural products for your skin, and this mask is one of them. It comes as a powder that you mix with either water or apple cider vinegar, which came in the kit (you can also buy the mask separately). The mask is created with multiple forms of clay- all natural, of course. This masks promises to help with many things including: blemishes, wrinkles, acne, pores, and detoxifying.

Be sure to check out my video on this too! http://youtu.be/67y7JUoTqAI

IMG_6753I have the detox kit which includes the mask, apple cider vinegar, a mixing bowl, spatula, and measuring spoons

IMG_6752The mask comes in a powder form which you can mix with either water or the provided apple cider vinegar

My Experience:

I find that the middle measuring spoon full of the mask, and the same quantity of water (or apple cider vinegar) creates a good thick consistency. I’ve also tried it on with a little more water and liked the thinner mask as well. I noticed that when I mix this mask with apple cider vinegar the mask fizzes, which is normal.

It applies much like a normal clay mask does, but I noticed that it dries much faster than most. Every single time, at around the 7 minute mask, the mask tightens exponentially, leaving me with a feeling of sucking. It almost feels like my skin is getting a facelift and gunk is being sucked out! At first when this happened I was a bit worried, but I’m used to it now.

The instructions say you can leave it on for 10-30 minutes, but I can’t seem to get to 30 minutes. The most I have done is 20, and the least, 15. I like the 15 minute version better because its a bit uncomfortable to wear for longer than that.

Now to the results: After washing off the mask and patting my face dry, I noticed a tightness around my mouth area which tends to always happen to me after washing my face. It was a little intensified though, because of the clay in the mask. I noticed immediately how baby soft my skin felt- like a babys bottom, literally! A lot of my normally textured skin was much more calm, and my pores had virtually disappeared! This was my favorite result, because my pores around my nose and on are HUGE! Not to mention, my pesky blackheads were gone too.

I have to say though, that using this mask with water has been more beneficial to me than with the apple cider vinegar. The vinegar is a bit harsh for me and caused bumps and redness while the water method did not.

I’ve tried the mask on at night and morning, and I prefer the results I get at night and the fact that I still look and feel great the next couple of days.

In my opinion, this mask is a winner! Coupon code down below for 10% off your purchase.

PROS:

– you get to mix a fresh batch every time

– pore minimizing

– blackhead removal

– smooth and soft skin

CONS:

– apple cider vinegar is too harsh on the skin

– more work than a normal mask since you have to mix it together every time

Grade: A
