Atlanta Food: Eclipse Di Luna

ceviche atlanta

Eclipse Di Luna has a special place in my family’s heart. We discovered this restaurant soon after moving to Atlanta, 17 years ago. We always went there when we wanted a fun meal, and also always took our visitors there. While Atlanta now has so many incredible restaurants, this one fills the need for a well priced and tasty food menu. Its not fancy, but has that sort of rustic imperfection that most restaurants in Spain had when I visited. Its a little undone, rough around the edges, but thats almost what makes it charming.

The menu is tapas style, so the food comes out quick. There are two sides to the menu, one being non vegetarian items, and the second, vegetarian. That being said, this restaurant is a haven for most vegan/vegetarian people. The flavors are derived from Spain, with charcuterie, patatas bravas, etc. They have also expanded and added a few specialized salads into the tapa selection, which makes it good for health conscious people also.

So first, drinks. They have a fully stocked bar, but what they specialize in are mojitos and sangrias. Sangria is the drink of choice in Spain so it makes sense, but my friends and I love the mojitos the most! Hands down the best mojitos I have ever had.

Now on to the food. I would say I have tried 90% of the menu due to my numerous visits, but my favorite is definitely the ceviche. Its so delicious with just the right amount of tang. Another favorite of mine is the mushroom dish Hongos Salteado. On my last visit I cant say it was as mouth watering as usual, but generally it hits the spot. Another one of our favorites is the calamari. This time around we also tried the ahi tuna, but I would say that was a complete miss. The salmon a la parrilla was delicious, as it always is. We’ve tried the mussels before, and those too were delicious. My friends love the sauteed shrimp also, although I have not tried it.

Know before you go: this is a fun spot for friends with a lively atmosphere and some sort of live entertainment such as salsa dancing or a band. That being said, it can get VERY loud, so it might not be the best spot for a date. Also its a little hard to find, but when your GPS cuts off keep going straight and you will find it!
