My wish has finally been granted. Nars is opening a boutique right here in Atlanta! I was invited to go check it out, and let me tell you, its the most gorgeous makeup boutique I have ever seen! In true Nars style, everything about the store is well thought out, minimalistic, chic, and well put together. I always Continue reading →
The queen of eyebrows, Anastasia Beverly Hills released a new product recently, the brow definer. This caused quite a stir in the Youtube community, so I quickly ordered mine to see what the hype was all about. I am a huge ABH fan in general, and the dipbrow pomade is a product I am completely hooked on! In this post, I am breaking down Continue reading →
The new Makeup Forever ultra HD foundation has been the talk of the town for the last few months. I was a little late to the game, but I’m glad I tried it nonetheless. This foundation is right up the current trend season with the Ultra HD part, since all makeup companies now want Continue reading →
I recently worked with the beautiful Kelly from Kale Me Kelly to create a wedding guest appropriate look for the wedding she was invited to. Our goal was to keep her face glowing and dewy, and the rest of the makeup to look fresh faced. Mission accomplished! Be sure to Continue reading →
I was invited to a fun blogger beauty event at The Avalon a few weeks ago, and just had to share my experience with you! The event was by The Cosmetic Market (full service beauty bar with high end makeup retailers within), and they promised champagne- this obviously meant a good time.
From the second I walked in, I could see and feel a stir and buzz in the air, and I loved that! Champagne, white wine, chocolate covered strawberries, and cheese greeted you at the door, and thereafter you could walk around and get acquainted. Various different stations had been set up with complimentary sessions of brow waxing, hair styling, hand exfoliation, and of course, makeup application.
I chose to try out the hand exfoliation as well as hair styling. Mario from Mario’s Hair Designers gave me a lioness do’ and I have to say I’m obsessed. Stay tuned for a blog post in which he will do my hair again for all of you! My friend Natasha from Toto’s Life and Style accompanied me, and we had so much fun! Besides all of the above things I have mentioned, The Cosmetic Market also does facials. All of this while you shop for your favorite beauty products in one place! This is such a cool and novel concept, be sure to check it out in Johns Creek, GA!
Before getting my hair done!
The final product!
Bloggers never travel without their cameras- and therefore, there are always a ton of pictures to be taken!
I was anticipating the arrival of the new Nars foundation for quite some time, and when I finally had the chance to try it out, I jumped all in. I wasn’t expecting a miracle due to the fact that the sheer glow (also by Nars) no longer works on me and I had pretty much given up on the possibility of any foundation being a holy grail after the MUFE mat velvet due to my oily skin woes. However, this foundation is a game changer. I wear the shade Syracuse for reference.
It is the THINNEST consistency FOUNDATION I have ever used, and it still has an insane amount of coverage. I would say its medium/full to full coverage. You only need one pump for your entire face- and this pump only dispenses a small amount, not the amount most pumps dispense! Not only that, it has the most gorgeous, luxurious velvet texture to it that makes it photograph really well, and looks like real skin. Once you apply it, it doesn’t look slippery or “wet” or “sticky” and therefore does not have to be powdered- thats a personal preference.
Also, its been wearing really well on my oily skin. I get about 5 hours of wear without any shine at all, and when it does start to shine, its the good, non oily kind. I find myself having to blot only after 7-8 hours, and thats only because I like it to be 100%..but honestly, its not a must. I do wear a translucent powder over it regardless.
And lastly, it photographs beautifully!!

I was in NYC last week to attend a makeup workshop by renowned makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic aka Kim Kardashian’s makeup artist. I suffered some burns on my face after using a personal microdermabrasion system and wanted to find a foundation/concealer with the heaviest coverage I could find to cover up the scabs. Mario mentioned at his workshop that Kevyn Aucoin has the best foundations around- and being that I haven’t seen this brand in Atlanta, I decided to splurge and get it from Henri Bendel in New York.
First Impressions: – Looks like a creamy, whipped concealer – Great shade range – Cute packaging – Smells great
After Swatching: – OMG you only need the TINIEST and I mean TINY amount to get flawless coverage – Dried matte – My skin breathed through
After Using For a Week: – Best foundation/concealer I have ever used – I used this as a foundation all over my skin and got the best coverage I have ever gotten, while still looking natural – Great oil control – This jar will last me forever! – Great concealer for under eye area to brighten
PROS: – Great coverage – Makes skin still look like skin – Great at brightening under the eye – Great oil control properties – Great color range for most people – Creamy
CONS: – I have to mix 11 and 13 to get my foundation shade – Creased under my eyes
