If there’s one trend in fashion I love, its monochromatism. Wearing similar shades of the same color gives a very soft appearance, while still making an impact. Below is one of my favorite looks from this summer- white jeans just never get old for me! Also, I just subscribed to Rocksbox, and now receive numerous pieces of jewelry per month for $19/month! This is a members only website where you can borrow designer jewelry, and if you like any of the pieces sent to you, you can buy and keep them. It’s a great way to check out new brands that you didn’t know of before, and try before you buy! With my code, makeupbymeghaxoxo you will receive your first month for free! If you guys have tried them out, let me know what you think! Link is down below!

DSC_6489I did something a little dangerous- added two pops of color to the white, as opposed to one. How do you like it?

DSC_6479Another little surprise- a peekaboo back on this top from Zara! I am all about showing a little skin while covering up everything else!

DSC_6466This gorgeous bracelet came in my Rocksbox set too! The stylist absolutely figured out my style through my style quiz and sent me the most perfect items for my personality! You can also add items to your wishlist, and they send you at least one of those items each time! The number of times you use their boxes in one month is up to you!

DSC_6471What I love the most about my Celine phantom bag is that not much of the hardware shows- making it easy to wear with any toned metal

DSC_6495I love the symmetry of this top, and how business-y it looks from the front. And then when you get a glimpse of the back, you see a peekaboo flap!

OOTD/OOTN: Black and Yellow

Hey guys,

thanks for stopping by! Today I’m styling a yellow romper with some wedges to instantly glam up the look. This summer I’ve been all about yellow, and while I normally stay away from a yellow/black combination, I really loved this one! I wore this outfit to an event at The Cosmetic Market at Avalon, and I was so lucky to have my hair done by the incredible Mario from “Mario’s” hair salon in Alpharetta. I asked for a lioness do’ and I absolutely loved what he came up with!

DSC_2896The black wedges made me take out my black Celine!

FullSizeRender-2Normally I find that Rompers can take away curves, but in this ones case, the fabric is so thin that it really flatters as opposed to taking away

FullSizeRenderThe print of the romper has a faded effect, but I kind of dig it! Add a chunky necklace and polka dotted bracelet, and you’re good to go!

DSC_2904A low, tie up back gave this look a cute and whimsical effect because it was a loose fitting outfit

OOTD to OOTN: Mixing Bright Colors

Hi loves!

Today I’m back with another outfit post, this time combining TWO bright colors in one outfit! The more I play around with fashion, I’m realizing that its just about what makes you comfortable, and there isn’t just one “right” way to pair anything. I also show you how to transition a day look into something for the night with just a different pair of shoes. Enjoy!

DSC_7880I’ve never thought I could pull of wedges because my legs are so skinny, but I really liked them with this particular outfit

DSC_7861The black laser cut top helps make the green and yellow pop!

DSC_7860A strappy, sexier heel is the easiest way to transition this look from day to night!

DSC_7884Regardless of the shoes, I chose thin, delicate jewelry so it wouldn’t steal the show from the color pops!

OOTD/OOTN: How to Wear Leather in Spring

Hi everyone!

If you guys have noticed any trend at all so far on my outfit posts, its that I love leather. Any time of the year, leather can look so chic depending on how you wear it. Today I paired leather, and well…leather for you guys. I filmed a full Get Ready With Me video so that you guys can see how I do my hair, makeup, and style my outfit- and here is the final result! I chose out a couple pieces from a few favorite stores of mine- Tory Burch, Kate Spade, Fevrie, Nasty Gal, and Muwae Jewelry to come up with this look. I also have a coupon code for you, so be sure to scroll to the bottom!

Be sure to watch my video on this look HERE

IMG_7087Although the top is leather too, because it has fringe is the reason for why its wearable with this skirt

I just love this layered necklace from Mawae! I went ahead and doubled it up to look shorter against this fringe top.

IMG_7103This skirt from Fevrie is EVERYTHING! It created curves for me that I don’t have. Not to mention, the asymmetrical black lines adds curves too!

IMG_7088I tucked in the fringe top to make it look shorter than it really is. Kate Spade gold bangle bracelets and the Muwae necklace really pull the look together!

IMG_7098The gold chain of the bag brings all the other gold pieces together!

IMG_7089Pumps would have made this look too casual, so I chose pointy toed gold shoes to stick with the more formal theme

IMG_7099The slit on the back makes this skirt easy to walk in.

OOTD: Oh So Chic

Hey everyone,

I love interesting, un-done silhouettes of late, so I put together a look that symbolizes both those things. Being short, I never thought harem pants would work for me, but its wondrous what a basic pair of heels can do for your frame! This look is inspired by the girl who has an oh-so-cool job in the fashion industry, and doesnt have to try too hard. Its sophisticated, yet has a sass level to it. Enjoy!

IMG_6683This look is sophisticated meets boho in an understated way

FullSizeRender-4These pants are absolutely effortless! So comfortable, while looking so stylish

FullSizeRender-2You can’t go wrong with gold accents. It always looks so put together and chic. The jewelry I chose kept with this theme, and that is why they are sleek, thin pieces as opposed to chunky.

IMG_6668Nothing to break up neutrals like a good tomato red!

FullSizeRender copyI specifically chose pointy toed shoes because they keep within the lines of more formal, as opposed to trendy

OOTD: All White Everything, From Day to Night

Hey everyone!

Today I’m back with one of my favorite pairings for spring/summer 2015: white on white. I got inspired to do this when I was in Singapore last year, and saw a jeweler wearing all white. She looked so effortless and cool that I was immediately digging the look. While her look was tight white pants with a loose top, I wanted to do something a bit more textured and fitted for my body shape. Since I’m very petite, I like to go for styles that are a bit tighter so that I look taller.

FullSizeRender copyThe top I chose is off white, and a bit different from the pants, but I loved how well they still went together

FullSizeRender-2For a look like this, you have to break up the monotony with a few pops of color

And to change it up and go casual for a day time look, all you have to do is take off the extra pieces of jewelry, and throw on some comfortable loafers!

OOTN: Saying Goodbye to Winter

Hey Everyone!

Here in ATL it has already started warming up (and by that I mean its already 80+ degrees), so I think its safe to assume spring/summer has arrived. But before we bid winter goodbye, I wanted to post one more dinner date outfit I wore last week, for those of you who are in colder places. This outfit can also be tweaked to be spring/summer ready! I will explain how below =)

If any of the pictures are still showing up sideways, I’m so sorry! This issue is taking a lot longer to resolve than I thought it would

FullSizeRender-5If you find a pair of good fitting jeans, hold on to them for dear life! They make everything you wear look 100x better

IMG_6132I bought these babies on Rue a week ago, and they have been on my feet non stop. Gold goes with everything!

IMG_6133I wanted to match the burgundy pants with my favorite vampy lipstick- Vampira by Kat Von D.

FullSizeRenderAccessory necessities: I played upon the gold chain of my bag and added pops of gold with the necklace and bracelets

FullSizeRender-3Wearing a necklace with a turtle neck is an absolute must! Here I paired it with a long necklace as opposed to choker style to lengthen my whole body

This outfit was the perfect easy breezy no frills type of look, and I’m all about that. You could also pair a shorter sleeved tight tee with the pants to make it more spring ready. Overall, I really like how this look turned out! What do you guys think?

Outfit Details:

Top: Forever 21

Pants: Hollister Co.

Shoes: BCBG (but bought on Rue- click HERE to be taken to my post about this website)

OOTN: A Bright Pop of Color

Hey everyone!

Today I wanted to share with you guys a casual-ish dinner date outfit. I wore this to a trendy restaurant last week and loved how the outfit turned out. Its simple, but little things make it fun and trendy. I chose a bright red wool coat to be the show stopper, and normally with something like that you can wear a very neutral outfit under it. However, I went with a striped maroon and gold body con dress to show you that you can still have shades of red in the outfit and it won’t be too red. I was thinking of rocking a red lip- but realized that would be over kill.

FullSizeRender-3You can easily turn a tight dress into something dinner ready by wearing a long coat over it

FullSizeRender-4Sticking with my love of turtlenecks, I had to choose a statement necklace to wear because…well naturally. Its me.

FullSizeRenderI’ve never actually worn a bright red with a warm toned brown before, but I took the risk, and I loved it!

FullSizeRender-2Since this look is so colorful, it was important to stick with a bag of the same color as the shoes, or it would be too many colors in one look.

What do you guys think?

OOTN: Leather, Lace, Studs

Hi everyone!

I can’t explain how much I love leather and studded things. Leather always looks powerful, and studs have that cool rocker esque feel that I really enjoy. Luckily for me, Atlanta is still pretty cold so leather and studs are still approved =) Below is a look I created for a dinner a few weeks ago. Its simple, yet has elements of edge. If any of the pictures are showing up sideways, its because there is a formatting problem between Apple and WordPress. They are trying hard to resolve it! In the mean time, click on the picture to see it normally.

tousled hair I stuck to two colors for the entire look- black and heather gray

inverted feetI tried this look with pumps, but it made it too “pretty” as opposed to stylish. So I stuck with these stiletto booties

side viewMy favorite part of this look is the bib necklace. I love how well it covers up the entire chest area, and that since there is so much silver on it, it matches the studded clutch

another side viewI chose to have the sleeves of the gray sweater show at the cuffs rather than hiding them to show more pops of gray

FullSizeRender copy 3A textured blazer (here, in lace) always adds a fun element to the look

Here is a close up for the studded clutch

foiled eyesTo make the look glam, I chose foiled eyeshadows (Makeup Geek)

open eyes

This look utilizes a few different elements. Mixing textures, (lace blazer, leather leggings, and studded clutch). as well as a monochromatic palette for the most part. There are just two colors used- gray and black. I love the simplicity of it, but the textures add that edge I so love. Another way to make this look even trendier as opposed to soft would be to tie up the hair in to a slick ponytail so all eyes are focused on the necklace. I chose to go with metallic, foiled eyeshadow to make my eyes really pop.

Leather leggings: Forever 21

Black lace blazer: Guess

Black and silver bib necklace: Forever 21

Black studded clutch: Jimmy Choo (bought on Rue La La)

OOTN: Sassy and Stylish

2014 was the year of high waisted skirts for me. I picked up this gem in Singapore, and I love the pleating! It makes it a bit fancier, and gives a definite shape. If you have smaller hips like me, look for something like pleating to help give you shape! I paired this metallic cropped sweater to jazz up the black a bit, and make the outfit a bit more festive. The gladiators were added to give the look a bit more masculinity with the feminine pieces. I love how it turned out!

Frontal The metallic sweater really helps to make the look a bit more glitzy for night time!

wallThe turtle neck of the sweater made me immediately reach for a statement necklace

side slitsThe side slit of the skirt makes it so easy to walk in, and adds just the right amount of drama

close up of gladsClose up of the gladiator sandals! I chose a style that has a full back zipper as well as adjustable straps so that it fits my legs the way I want them to

back viewHow impossibly feminine is this skirt?! Lots of room for movement and the waistband keeps it in place!

Top: Nasty Gal

Skirt: Department store in Singapore called Robinsons

Necklace: Wantable Co (monthly jewelry/makeup box)

Gladiators: Steve Madden

Would you guys wear a look like this?
